Our Story..

We believe in locally grown and sustainable agriculture so that we can bring you the freshest, most delicious harvest to enjoy.

Pipers Hill Farms, LLC is a family owned and operated hop and vegetable farm located in Washington Township, NJ.  This is the story of my crazy journey from corporate life to farm life. After a 25-year career in the corporate world, I took the plunge to follow my passion and a dream of a young boy.  As so it all began in 2016 with the purchase of 27 acres of dormant, yet fertile farmland in the beautiful Musconetcong River valley of Warren County.

I am the son of a farm kid from Western, Pennsylvania. My mother grew up on a 1,000-acre family farm built by my grandfather. He raised beef cattle and converted his local country store into a butcher shop and deli. I spent several weeks every summer following in his shadow, traversing the countryside to purchase cattle, hogs, and poultry at various local auction houses. In our downtime we fished and hunted and enjoyed my grandmother's farm-fresh cooking. During college, I developed an interest in brewing and spent my days working in brew houses in Western New York refining my taste for IPA’s and the bouquet that hops distinctly deliver. Pipers Hill Farms is the intersection of my two passions, as we cultivate local hops along with other produce to bring the freshest, most flavorful harvest to the community.

Along with my wife, Michelle, and are two amazing kids, we have become a farm family. The entire family can be found helping out at farmer’s market, packing orders, or doing whatever else is needed to keep the farm vibrant and growing. Michelle manages the business side while continuing to work her corporate job in marketing. Our son, Shawn, fell in love with agriculture as a kid after visiting my grandparent’s farm and spending his high school years working at local farms. He now attends Delaware Valley University studying horticulture. Our daughter, Emily, has always had a creative side and helps with merchandising and social media when she is not busy studying Journalism at Virgina Tech.

Our small farm continues to expand each year. You can find our fresh produce at the Washington Borough Farmer’s Market and the West End Farmer's market in Hackettstown. Our hops are featured in several local craft beers from Buttzville Brewing Company and Man Skit Brewing.  We NJ Farmland Preserved and are River-Friendly certified. We believe are proud to be a part of the local Warren County community and look forward to having you enjoy our locally grown produce.
